ANZ dominates KangaNews Awards 2020 with 18 wins

ANZ has swept up 18 issuer, house and deal awards, including Australian Bank Issuer of the Year and Australian Sustainability Issuer of the Year as well as Bond House of the Year awards in both Australia and New Zealand, Sustainability Debt House in Australia and Kauri House of the year in New Zealand.

ANZ also won four out of the eight Australian house awards up for grabs, including Australian Credit House of the Year and Australian Secondary Market House of the Year. In New Zealand, ANZ clinched two out of the six domestic bank house awards.

Our customers closed a number of award-winning deals including Australian Sustainability Bond Deal of the Year, Australian Dollar Financial Institution Bond Deal of the Year and Australian Syndicated Loan Deal of the Year as well as New Zealand Dollar Rates Bond Deal of the Year and Kauri Bond Deal of the Year.

Peer-voted by investors and issuers in Australia, New Zealand and overseas, the awards recognise ANZ’s market leading franchise across the debt markets in Australia and New Zealand. The breadth of the awards as both issuer and lead manager and arranger highlights the strength of the bank’s product capabilities, deep sector knowledge, distribution network and strong customer relationship.

“Despite challenging market conditions, ANZ continues to deliver well-managed risk outcomes and industry-leading funding and investment solutions for our customers. We are delighted to be recognised for our efforts,” Shayne Collins, Managing Director, Markets, ANZ said.

Sustainability featured strongly among ANZ’s house awards, as well as its winning client transactions, with all but two deals in labelled Sustainable Finance format.

“We are pleased to see the sustainability thread across our awards, and congratulate our winning customers for successfully executing deals of this nature,” Christina Tonkin, Managing Director, Corporate Finance, ANZ said.

“It is a key driver for how we service our customers and make decisions as well as growing customer demand towards ESG-style opportunities as more borrowers’ link their financing to their sustainability strategies.”

ANZ’s broad product offering and wide distribution network is vital in mobilising investment capital.

“ANZ’s combined capability across Loans, Capital Markets and Sustainable Finance is key to helping our customers’ access capital and investment opportunities in a way that’s aligned to their sustainability goals,” Collins said.
