ANZ Insto names Medard, Vasic in key roles

ANZ Institutional has bulked up its focus on innovation, digital and data, and customer relationships with the appointment of two key leadership roles.

The lender has appointed internal candidates Tammy Medard as Managing Director, Institutional Australia and Lisa Vasic as Managing Director, Transaction Banking, both vacant positions.

ANZ Group Executive, Institutional, Mark Whelan said the bank has built a strong pipeline of diverse talent throughout the division.

“Medard and Vasic bring exceptional customer relationships, a sharp risk lens, strong leadership and a track record of driving well-managed growth,” he said. “They also have a keen focus on product innovation and the use of data and digital to support our customers, as well as a deep understanding of trade and supply chains, which are critical as we continue to face into uncertain economic times.”

The appointments come after ANZ Institutional maintained its ranking as the top Institutional bank in Australia for a fifth-consecutive year, according to Peter Lee Associates.

Medard will begin in her role on October 1. She started at the bank 12 years ago in risk before relocating with her family for the role of ANZ Laos CEO and, most recently, Head of Diversified Industries in Institutional Banking.

Vasic’s appointment will be effective August 17. She has been at ANZ for almost two decades, most recently as Head of Australia & PNG, Transaction Banking, Institutional.
